Organised by the Safe Network's key partner Children England and the National Council for Voluntary Youth Services (NCVYS), these regional briefings will focus on how the voluntary and community sector will be affected by the scheme.

These free half-day learning seminars will focus on the introduction of the Vetting and Barring Scheme and how it will affect voluntary and community groups that work with children and young people.

The events will give participants the opportunity to:

  • Receive a detailed presentation on the Vetting and Barring Scheme from a speaker from the Home Office.
  • Ask detailed questions on the scheme.
  • Hear from the Safe Network/third sector’s perspective on the impact of the scheme.
  • Consider the impact of the scheme on their organisation and spend time discussing it with other participants.
  • Find out about support available to the voluntary and community sector in relation to safeguarding from the Safe Network, Children England, NCVYS and others.
  • Meet and network with colleagues from across the region.
