whats this about

Our launch event took place on 5th June in Westminster. We are now ready to take enquiries and offer advice to third sector organisations who work with children.

The Safe Network team would like to thank all of those who attended our ministerial launch on 5th June at Church House in London.

Amongst others, Professor Tanya Byron, Baroness Delyth Morgan of  DCSF and Maggie Jones of Children England were key note speakers on the day. The key note presentations provided a valuable opportunity for delegates representing community, voluntary and statutory sector organisations to hear about  important aspects of safeguarding in the third sector.

One delegate commented that; 'Tanya Byron was inspiring and Maggie made it real'.

There was also a chance for delegates to take part in some stimulating round table discussions and network with one another.

We received some really positive feedback from those who attended.
One delegate commented that 'Finally everyone can work together to keep children safe. It's nice for the third sector to be included and recognised for our work with children & families'.

The event was a great success in getting the Safe Network off to the best possible start, providing a real opportunity for third sector organisations to support the initiative and gain a better understanding of the unit's priorities.
