This NSPCC training course arranged by the Fresh Start team will take place in Liverpool on 18 March 2010. It will cover safe recruitment practices and help to clarify the Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) process.

The aim of this course is to enable delegates to:

  • Learn more about safer recruitment practices.
  • Identify your agency’s safer recruitment culture.
  • Understand legal requirements in safer recruitment.
  • Understand what is meant by “eligibility” for CRB checking.
  • Practice how to complete and verify a CRB application form.
  • Practice how to risk assess disclosure information.
  • Practice how to make defensible recruitment decisions.
  • Share own experiences, learn from others and influence your agency’s safeguarding culture.
Who should attend?

The training has been developed to meet the needs of community and voluntary sector agencies providing services to children and young people.
