DCSF publish Dr Tanya Byron's 'Safer Children in a Digital World' progress report

Professor Tanya Byron confirmed the UK as a world leader in child internet safety but advised Government and the Industry to make faster progress  to stay ahead of advances in technology.

As part of her review, two years after the original report 'Safer Children in a Digital World' Professor Byron highlights the following:

  • the‘Zip it, Block it, Flag it’, the public awareness campaign for parents
  • the creation of the UK Council for Child Internet Safety (UKCCIS), a coalition of government, charities and industry
  • the publication of a ground breaking internet safety strategy
