The NSPCC launches campaign highlighting the vulnerability of babies and to call for better and earlier support for new parents.

Reducing the neglect and abuse of children under one is one of the NSPCC’s seven priority themes; helping to ensure that the most vulnerable children in society are given the chance to live happy and fulfilling childhoods free from the threat of abuse and neglect.

A recent report by the NSPCC has found babies are eight times more likely to be killed than any other age group in childhood. And factors such as domestic violence, mental health problems, and drink and drug dependency among parents are known to be important risk factors in cases of abuse and neglect.

The NSPCC are asking everyone to help prevent abuse and neglect of babies by pledging their support for the campaign. You can show your support by 'Signing the Pledge Now'. Hosted the new campaign website, you will also find other help and guidance around the issues facing babies in the UK, research that shows why early intervention is so important and news on how the campaign is developing.
