Do you want to keep your groups activities safe for children?

The Are they Safe? pack, is a toolkit full of easy to use materials for community and voluntary groups and organisations. The resource  includes a step by step guide, a DVD and other information to help managers, staff and volunteers who provide activities to children and young people feel confident about what they need to do to safeguard children effectively.

To promote this resource the Safe Network will be running a number of regional workshops across the UK for representatives from community and voluntary sector organisations and from support and umbrella groups.

Child playing with toyThe aim of the workshops is to familiarise participants with the resource and to explore how they can use it to improve safeguarding practice in their own group or organisation.  Participants are expected to be prepared to run similar workshops for others in their local areas.

Who should apply?
Staff and volunteers within or working with community groups and third sector organisations who have:

  • some knowledge and experience of training or facilitating learning or group work
  • some knowledge of safeguarding issues.

This workshop is FREE. However, delegates will need to make a commitment to run at least one workshop in their local area upon completion of the training, which will be supported by the Safe Network.
