The thing is i am a fully qualified baby massage instructor qualified 2 years ago and i am looking to start up my own classes in the community. I would like to know exactly what i would need to cover me and where i can find suitable form/ details templates etc. also what i should and shouldn't do.I don't want to register a business name or as self employed yet as i haven't set it up yet. What is the starting point? What do i need to cover my back etc.All advice very much appreciated.

Hi there. A good place to start is by looking on the Safe Network website in the 'setting up a group' section (look under the 'help and advice' heading). You can also order a free Are They Safe pack which will give you a lot of help. Maybe also take a look at the Safe Network standards booklet - start with the 'child protection' and the 'avoiding accident' standards. There is also a good section on the site about Babies (under 'Training and awareness').
Basically, to start with, think in terms of:
1. Policies and procedures (especially for child protection and accident prevention)
2. Training in child protection (try the Educare training that you can access via this website)
3. Insurance provision for yourself.
You can find loads of other stuff on the website that will help.
Good luck!
