Does anyone have any tips for a media useage/mobile phone policy for a day nursery?  I fully recognise the risks and precautions regarding mobiles in childcare settings and need to revise and implement the current policy in place.

At the nursery where I work we are required to lock our bags away in the morning in our lockers or the kitchen along with our phones. We are encouraged not to use them unless its in an emergency and are allowed to use the landline. We are not allowed to take pictures on our phones (which will have confiscated if we do, until the photos have been removed) It is also in our policy to discourage parents and visitors from taking pictures on the premises as well. We have a digital camera that is used to take all nursey activity pictures and pictures for childrens learning and development journals. This is then given to the manager and stored away at the end of the day.

Its the best way really although other groups may do things differently.

    I hope this helps
