Started: 16/05/2012 13:07:22I have recently set up a youth club for a local Secondary School I am a Youth Worker for, and have implemented to Safeguarding Policy accordingly. However is it right to think that this policy only covers pupils at the school that attend the club, and do I need something separate for young people who are external to the school?
Would really appreciate feedback/ advice :)

If you are using the school just as a venue and are an independent worker you need your own separate policy to include all the young people who attend.
If you are employed or volunteer for the school to work with their students during "directed school hours" or are running an after school club on behalf of the school you should adhere to the school's policy.
