How can you prepare?
Detailed guidance on the operation of the scheme will be issued over the next few months.  Keep an eye on Safe Network for further news. 

In the meantime:

• Link up with a relevant registered body that will administer the application process.
• Keep an eye on scheme developments  on Safe Network and on the ISA .
• Help spread the word about the Vetting and Barring scheme and how important it is.
• Inform your HR department if you have one to prepare for the changes.
• Consider what roles in your organisation are defined as a regulated activty.
• Make sure that your recruitment procedures for paid staff and volunteers are in line with good practice.

Information for Parents
Parents and other members of the public can refer information about someone to the ISA through a statutory agency such as children’s social care or the police. They will be able to investigate the matter and refer information to the ISA
