The Safe Network supports groups that are based in England but receive many requests from clubs within Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. We have provided some key links and information for these groups.

The Safe Network is funded to supply support for the voluntary and community sector with information on safeguarding children to groups that are based in England.

Our hard copy materials are for English groups only but our online resources are widely available and can be downloaded FREE across the site as many times as you like.
(Please note: all Safe Network material complies with English legislation and will differ to other nations).

Safeguarding Children in Wales

Government of Wales Act 2006 - Gave the Welsh Assembly responsibility for producing regulations and guidance relating to child protection, although the Acts themselves were still being made in Westminster.

Children in Wales - A membership body and is open to individuals and organisations from a wide range of fields with varying interests, but all of whom are interested in improving the lives of children and young people in Wales.

Child Protection in Sport Unit Wales- Supporting sports groups in Wales safeguard children.

Safeguarding Children in Scotland

Children in Scotland - Agency for voluntary, statutory and professional organisations and individuals working with children and their families in Scotland.

Children 1ST - Provide services for vulnerable children and young people aged 0-19 years. Services are 'child centred' and support and empower families to do their best for children and young people.

Child Protection in Sport Unit Scotland - Supporting sports groups in Scotland safeguard children.

Safeguarding Children in Northern Ireland

Northern Ireland Act 1998 - Led to the creation of the Northern Ireland Assembly and gave it power to make laws (called Acts) for all areas of responsibility devolved to it, including child protection, health and education.
