The support you need

We produce a range of resources for black and minority ethnic (BME) groups working with children and offer information, advice and guidance tailored to your groups needs.

The safety and well-being of children and young people should be a concern for everyone regardless of the child's background. The Safe Network is here to support groups that recognise this as a top priority.

Resources

The Safe Network has produced a CD Rom resource Keeping our children safe: raising awareness in black and minority ethnic communities, a three part multilingual training tool for voluntary groups and professionals to use in the community.

The aim of the resource is to take safeguarding into the very heart of black and minority ethnic communities by providing an opportunity for sharing and learning about positive and harmful childcare practices and ways in which children can be kept safe.

Training

The Safe Network is also running a number of free workshops focussing on how to use the resource out in the community. This is aimed at staff and volunteers with knowledge of working directly with black and minority ethnic communities, training or facilitating, and with prior safeguarding knowledge.
